Up until 3 years ago- I ran my business from the den of our Vancouver home. While convenient, and overhead-saving, years of waking up and already being at work had run its course and my then 2 employees and I were outgrowing the space.
Searching for office space in one of the world’s most expensive real estate markets was disheartening to say the least, but eventually I stumbled upon this Gastown diamond-in-the-rough that had sat unwanted for months, and immediately saw past its murky green walls, dated finishings and cat pee smell! (see before pics here) Two months of renos and it began to seem as though my Pinterest page was coming to life. Getting the keys to this dream space remains the proudest “pinch me” moment in my 11 years of designing and making jewelry.
The studio was recently featured in Style at Home, in a six-page spread in the magazine. They were impressed at how many domestic comforts I brought into the workspace and seeing the home away from home I created for our team and for our customers. Read on for the tour! Photos by Tracey Ayton.
